What to Expect at Your Dentist Appointment

We know that trying a new dental office can feel uncertain, especially if it has been a while. Here is a simple walkthrough of what your first appointment at Smilewright looks like so you can walk in feeling prepared and at ease.

Step 1 — Check In

Our front desk team will greet you, confirm your insurance information, and get your paperwork sorted. We recommend arriving a few minutes early so you have time to settle in before your appointment begins.

Step 2 — Meet Your Provider

You will meet with one of our dentists, who will take the time to introduce themselves, learn about your dental history, and listen to any concerns or goals you have for your smile. There is no rush here.

Step 3 — Comprehensive Exam & X-Rays

We will complete a thorough exam of your teeth, gums, and overall oral health. Digital X-rays allow us to get a clear, detailed picture of what is happening below the surface so nothing gets missed.

We know that cost and coverage questions are often what stand between patients and the care they need. Our team is here to make that part as easy as possible.

In-Network Insurance:

We are in-network with several major dental insurance plans. Call our office and we will verify your benefits before your first appointment so you know exactly what to expect.

Out-of-Network Insurance:

If your plan is out of network, we will still bill your insurance directly on your behalf as long as your plan includes out-of-network dental coverage. You should not have to navigate that paperwork on your own.

Self-Pay Patients:

No insurance? No problem. We welcome self-pay patients and are happy to discuss costs upfront so you can make informed decisions about your care. Our team will always be transparent about pricing before any treatment begins.

Questions About Coverage:

Not sure what your plan covers? Give us a call at (330) 565-1948 or email frontdesk@smilewrightsalem.com and our front desk team will do their best to help you figure it out before your visit.
